Went to the local Methodist church with my host family.VERY different from what I am used to. I went from what some call a mega-church (Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa) to a rural church with perhaps 40 to 50 people in attendance at the service I went to. But still a great experience. The pastor’s message was right on and that is what is most important.
Then home for web work. Neighbors of my host family came over for dinner. The father asked me what I did for a living and when I told him and showed him this travel blog he was very anxious for me to help him with his web site. So he hired me to come over to his house tomorrow morning and work with him for 3 hours. Very cool! I have a chance to replenish my coffers a bit before I head to Yellowstone on Tuesday.
He also is involved with grant writing, which is what my next profession may be. The father of my host family has a non-profit. He is looking for a grant writer to bring in funding so he can start helping the underprivileged and those with medical needs among the Native American community. The husband of our dinner guests gave me a number of pieces of advice which will be a great help as I begin this new career path.
